I'm not gonna lie, this album took a huge toll on me emotionally. Whilst I was writing 'Through Hardships To The Stars' I was going through some 'mental turbulence' I guess you could call it. The original demos I wrote for the album were much more dim and dark but it eventually got to the point that I was tired of dwelling within a certain headspace so I decided to rewrite a huge chunk of the album and make it a more bittersweet experience. In short, the album’s concept is about questioning the meaning in life, having conflicts with self-worth, comparing yourself with everything and everyone around you and how our perspective ultimately shapes our reality. I really wanted to create an actual album of material that flowed, had reoccurring themes, melodies and motifs as well as a concept to it, rather than just throwing some random tracks together and calling it an ‘album’. Writing began around December of 2014 and carried on through Easter of next year until I was satisfied with what I had.

Listening back to the final product there are things I would still change but I guess art is never finished.
